It's my 18th #LAnniversary. My time in LA is now a legal adult. My 💛 for this city is borderline obsessive. Today, I'm spa'ing at the @losangelesathleticclub & having dinner at an L.A. original, @gyukakujbbq (first one in West L.A.).🌴

These photos are sort of a photo dump of this month, Prime Time Pubbing this weekend, volunteering at South #LA Cafe to help out fire victims, an @laclippers game, a special moment betwixt friends, and 🏊‍♀️ the pool viewing window at the LA Athletic Club.

These are photos I took the day after the first night of the Palisades and Eaton fires from my front yard.

I'm using this to document how it's been going. @joelchappo and I live in the middle of the city, so we didn't have to evacuate, but the Hollywood hills are but 5 miles away.
We're fortunate, which I cannot speak for the thousands of people (including friends and acquaintances) that have lost everything.

I have thought about how I wanted show up on social media:
- Be upset on how we have done very little about climate change (and being the only country where half the citizens don't want to believe it)?
- Be annoyed at people that don't live here making unhelpful, callous comments? Like would they say this if it were a hurricane or a tornado?
- Be sad for the businesses that are no longer?
- Think back at the houses I've been to that are rubble?
- Point out how Americans react to a place they love or (misguidedly) hate?
- dote on the city I truly love?

No. Bloviating on my thoughts isn't helpful. I want to be helpful and do what a I can when I felt so helpless watching it all infold.
- Give resources and also put my money where my mouth is.
- Donate to real people that I know it will effect.
- Take in displaced doggies.
- Thank the first responders and the journalists on the ground. (I was an emergency reporter at @siriusxm during Katrina. Much respect.)

On the way to southern Indiana, we stopped in West Lafayette to go to the first and oldest diner in Indiana Triple XXX (ungooglable) and a streamline moderne custard shop.

West Baden hotel is a grand Victorian hotel that presidents and dignitaries stayed at in the turn of the century. It boasts the largest steel dome up until the 70s.
This grand hotel has a tradition of people hiding notes and messages. My friend @melbrides was here with her girls two weeks prior and left me a series of clues and notes that sent me all around the hotel. It was a fun adventure that added to our time here.

Not included in these photos, the sulphuric springs that were drank for health until they realized it contained a lot of lithium. They also claimed to have invented tomato juice. 🍅 French Lick's most famous denizen, Larry Bird has a sports bar that we obviously went to, and we had to drive around Amish buggies.
